The Opportunity:

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Manager of Business Development to lead and inspire our global Business Development Representative team. You will oversee BDRs globally, including the UK, MENA & APAC, driving excellence in prospecting, pipeline generation, and early-stage sales engagement.

Your mission is to ensure the team delivers high-quality opportunities to our sales organisation, meets or exceeds lead generation targets, and represents the Pole Star brand with professionalism and impact.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead, coach, and mentor a global BDR team to consistently achieve KPIs.
• Implement structured onboarding, training, and professional development programmes
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Performance & Process

• Set clear activity, conversion, and quality targets for BDRs.
• Monitor and analyse performance metrics, providing actionable insights and feedback
• Optimise lead qualification processes to ensure alignment with sales and marketing teams

Global Coordination

• Manage a geographically dispersed team across multiple time zones.
• Collaborate with regional sales managers to align outreach strategies and priorities
• Coordinate with marketing to ensure campaigns and messaging resonate across markets.

Player-Coach Contribution

• Proactively identify, research, and engage potential prospects in key target markets.
• Run your own outbound campaigns, nurturing relationships through calls, emails, LinkedIn, and events
• Qualify leads to a high standard before passing them to the sales team
• Stay up to date on market trends, competitors, and customer needs to spot new opportunities.

Strategy & Execution

• Drive innovative outbound and inbound lead generation strategies.
• Leverage CRM tools, data, and analytics to track progress and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Represent the BDR function in leadership meetings, contributing to broader sales strategy.

Required Skills:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar leadership role, preferably in SaaS, technology, or B2B sales environments.
• Proven track record of building, leading, and scaling successful BDR or SDR teams
• Experience managing remote and cross-cultural teams
• Strong personal track record in outbound business development and lead generation
• Proficiency in CRM best practices (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
• Exceptional communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to translate insights into action.

Additional Skills:

• Experience in the maritime technology industry is a significant plus

• Bachelor’s degree preferred
